Can anyone tell me what is causing the fault with my Canon Ixus 70 camera? Anyone had the same thing happen?
I've had my Canon Ixus 70 camera for 2 months now. When I just tried to take a picture the LCD screen was black. It is not a fault with the screen as pictures I've already taken can be viewed as normal. I've read somewhere that it might be a shutter problem. Has anyone else had a similar thing happen and how much did it cost to get repaired? I can't believe it - it's only 2 months old and very well looked after!
If it's only 2 months old, then you can get it repaired under warranty for free. Go to Canon's website to get information on warranty service. Your best option is to find a Canon authorized repair center locally and take it there yourself. This way, it is covered by the warranty, will still be covered after the work is done, AND you will not have to pay for shipping. The alternative is to ship it to Canon (at your cost) who will contact you with an estimate (usually free if you haven't dropped the camera). Once fixed, they will ship it back to you.
